Striving to be the best is desirable but giving your best is what makes the difference. My son is passionate about racing mountain bikes. He puts in long training hours to develop his fitness and skills. As a senior in high school, he raced at the varsity level. Watching him race has made me realize that the mental and physical challenge is demanding and it takes great effort and strength to endure the long ride and finish the race.
The lesson learned is to always give your best effort and never quit.
The Singing One
Set his throne in the full light of God; post Steady Love and Good Faith as lookouts. And I’ll be the one who sings your glory–and live what I sing every day.
Ps. 61 The Message Bible.
God is steady love, a love that never fails. God is watching over us. Regardless of what you face, have faith in God and sing your song. Whether it is a song of joy or a song filled with deep sorrow sing and know that you are not alone. God sees and He’s listening to your song.
The Gift
A gift is special, and you open it with wonder and excitement. You are thankful that someone took time to think of you and buy you something sweet and special. Perhaps the gifted is something you needed or maybe just something special from your husband. Regardless of the occasion, the gift makes you smile.
Today is a gift to you. You are blessed to have another day to simply celebrate life. Cherish your family and friends. Pray a prayer of thanksgiving. Hold hands a little longer with your husband, wife or child. Relax a moment as you enjoy your coffee. Take a walk around the block or simply leap for joy. Yes, the house cleaning, laundry and yard work can wait; it will be there tomorrow.
Today join with me today and have fun. Enjoy your family time. Tonight, we will have a great dinner followed by banana pudding.
Simply thankful for the gift that I have today.
